In our Pelvic Floor and Core Restore yoga class, we focus on retraining and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles.

About this class

  • This class combines yoga movement, Pilates and fitness exercises
  • We use Pilates balls, straps, hand weights and other props.
  • This class moves at a quicker pace compared with our Yoga with Baby class

This class focuses on movements that you do during motherhood: pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, squatting, rotating and balancing. You’re often picking up your baby, carrying a car seat, putting baby in a crib, pushing a stroller, lifting and carrying other children and balancing carrying a car seat in one hand and groceries in the other!

The pelvic floor takes a minimum of 4-6 months to heal after pregnancy. Even if birth ends in a caesarean, your pelvic floor muscles were still used throughout your pregnancy as they helped supported the weight of them.

Classes are suitable if you have received a diagnosed with diastasis recti, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse or pelvic girdle pain.

Did you know?  Restoring the abdominal muscles can help with diastasis recti and restoring the pelvic floor can help prevent prolapse and incontinence later in life.
